Welcome to Museums and Mudpies! We empower our toddlers to explore the world around them.... outside, inside,and in museums. We are based in the Louisville/Lafayette area and organized by a public and independent school teacher. Our ideas stem from International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme organization, incorporating methods from Montessori and European Forest Schools. Our goals are to form a safe and fun playgroup where children can learn, respect, and have a good understanding of the Earth, themselves, and each other through play.
Now enrolling for the 2026 Summer Camps. Museums and Mudpies is a popular camp and spots do fill up quickly. We encourage families to complete an interest form as soon as possible, when their child is three or older.
Museums and Mudpies is for children ages 3+ and is based in the Louisville/Lafayette area.
Our goals are helping kids to explore the world around them. We want to guide kids with language, tools, and activities to enjoy and learn all that our cities and parks have to offer. Our roots are in environmentalism and taking care of nature. We live in an area full of rich cultural experiences for children to learn about… so we want to explore! Seeing museums with sculptures, gardens with plants, sanctuaries with animals, and parks with streams give us plenty of chances to learn through play.
Teachers play a very important role in a child’s preschool experience. We are lucky to have a team of teachers who are passionate about both nature-based education and giving children the support that they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
